Doritos has decided it was FUNNY to run an ad that advocates, or at the very least, makes light of animal cruelty by presenting this jerk as funny. "If a little baby who cannot walk and cannot talk.. is in a Godless home.. and a friend or aunt or uncle carries that baby into a church and into a nursery where Spirit-filled teachers love that baby and do age-appropriate activities with him.. our nature is to say he's too young to remember and it won't make a difference... but do you really think that the Holy Spirit.. the creative force in the universe.. can't make a lasting impression to that child He made through His servants?"
My dad's glucose readings are down in the 100-130 range now, thank God. I am trusting God for a full healing and reversal of the diabetes, as he has taken responsible and immediate action to implement significant changes in his eating and activity patterns, and is being proactive on his own behalf.
An online friend Daniele AKA Starr works in a convienent store in Colorado. She texted me ten minutes ago that a man trying to escape the cops swerved off the road and almost drove right through the glass doors of the store... the only thing that stopped his car from driving through the doors and directly into her where she was standing with no warning was a stop sign that stopped his car. She's shaken and crying but she's alive and unharmed.
God is good, all the time.

Those First Forty-Eight Hours are so Crucial

Shebet. The Hebrew word translated in Proverbs as "rod" .. as in "spare the rod, spoil the child" ... does not necessarily or even probably refer to a wooden rod, or even a physical implement of any kind.
Get this, people: THE BIBLE DOES NOT — DOES NOT — EXCUSE YOU BEATING YOUR CHILDREN SENSELESS. It doesn't even excuse you hitting your children at all!!
The Bible makes clear indications of how much a NON-HEBREW SLAVE could be beaten! Yet, there are sick, twisted, evil liars out there, who claim that it is okay to beat a child countless times with a spoon, spatula, belt, or whatever else you can get your hands on, for every little offense.
As long as you don't hit your child with your hand, it's okay. They will not fear you if they don't associate this with your hand. Is that the biggest load of crap I ever heard, or are kids just way dumber than anyone actually thinks they are. If one of your children picks up a toy or a stick and hits their sibling with it, are you going to tell them it's okay, because they didn't hit their sibling with their hand? Will you tell your crying and offended other child that they should embrace their sibling's act as a playful gesture because they used a toy?
The Bible says spare the rod, spoil the child. Yeah. It does. The "rod" means shebet, a Hebrew word that can mean a wooden reed-like (thin and bending bending) rod, or, more likely, "rod of knowledge" - basically a LECTURE. Talk to your children. Teach them right from wrong.
Hitting your child decreases their defiance and makes them understand boundaries, which they need to feel loved and secure. Wrong again. Children need boundaries to feel secure. They need love to feel loved. Beating a child into submission isn't loving, it's abusive. It breaks their spirit and makes them fearful, intimidated, insecure, and angry. It fosters a sense of self-doubt that will follow them for life. It makes them angry and often makes them violent in turn, especially boys.
Oh! By the way. The person whose post set this off ... ended her argument with "ENJOY! ENJOY!! ENJOY!!!! It's worth it!" Even Christians who feel convinced that they need to physically discipline their children at all will often say it upsets them to have to cause their child pain. What's worse is that her three children are all profoundly neurologically disabled, and cannot properly perceive what they did or what is being done to them, and why. Furthermore, being autistic, any touch can seem painful at random times, so being hit with a spoon 100 times is torture beyond words.
So.. how much does a wife have to upset her husband to justify him beating her? How much would a aggravating parishioner have to annoy a pastor to justify a sucker punch to the jaw? How much can we do before God refuses to forgive us our sins?
Child abuse is child abuse. It is wrong. It is evil. And there are many many "Christians" who are going to answer to God someday for destroying the most precious "talents" they were ever entrusted with.

Phila Animal Control (PACCA/PAWS) is in a crisis... the city was trying to go nokill and officials have DENIED the request and are CUTTING funds and shelter staff by HALF.. and the contract words it so that control officers are obligated to "remove and effectively dispose of unwanted pets" meaning that can euthanise as many as they want/need to and are accountable to NO ONE.. which they will have to euthanize 30,000 MORE animals every year if this act is passed.
